This old Pianoman says: I really love teaching music . . . Playing "by ear" has been my style, my business, my hobby - and it's been an absolute joy to have taught others to do the same. Older people excel because they have so many well known tunes locked away in their heads; Popular songs & the great Jazz standards from the 1940's and 50's through to the present day - where now, only the occasional "gem" catches one's ear and sticks in the mind.

If you're like me and can't exactly hum a tune properly - playing by ear is still a snap.
Even children can do it easily.
And most of them aren't all that familiar with anything other than one or two nursery rhymes.

more than just Guitar here - ‹‹‹ What Instrument would You like to play ? Still Want Piano Tabs ? "Piano Tablature" Some years ago I found a popular web site describing itself as "a great resource". Then it closed ! The reopened pianotabs.net has changed little since Aug 2003. Seems that people are still asking - but few bother to reply with actual song tabs ....(which is typical of such sites, from what I have seen over the years ... If I'm wrong you let me know!) Many players once used their now inoperative "Forum". Like numerous others back then, I volunteered contributions/comments and put a lot of hours into responding to piano tab 'inquiries'. ALL WASTED! Yes, plenty of tabs available - despite a few "page not found" messages. But from the site operator you may still find the warning there saying he's not particularly interested in "maintaining the site" - so take note, it might just go "poof" and vanish again. You take care online, y'hear me? Along with "goodies" you can pick up a few BADDIES too - if you know what I mean ... Please Note also : Owing to a *lack of interest & poor customer support reported to the Piano Advisory certain teaching links on this page have now been removed. NO TABS - NO MUSIC ?
